The History of Mercato Beach and Its Development

Mercato Beach is not a more generic beach community for Dubai, but the secret history of the beach is far more concerned with how the city of Dubai itself was remapped from its original form as a fishing village into a global city.

Despite this beach never developing anything other than the rest, Dubai recent past to the extent of constructing something that will last for a good few decades has never stopped developing the beach itself and its surrounding in such a way that could soothe the locals as well as its tourists by making them capable of inviting, as the locals have their vacation without losing the touch of nature.

    Location of Mercato Beach

Mercato Beach can be located within the Jumeirah 1 complex in Dubai, UAE. It is part of one of the complexes of the entire La Mer complex, which is a highly concentrated beach compound purported to have better restaurants, stores, and recreation halls. It is located in the center of the beach and has a good view towards the Arabian Gulf, and hence it is a good place to relax or indulge in any other leisure activity.

    How to Reach There

By Car: One may also go to Mercato Beach by car. 20-minute city center drive from Sheikh Zayed Road or Jumeirah Beach Road.

By Metro: Jumeirah Beach Road (Dubai Metro) would be the nearest metro station, but need to walk or take a taxi to the beach. Taxi and bus driving is also utilized as a regular mode to reach to venue.

Parking: There are sufficient wide parking areas available in the beach surrounding area, i.e., near Mercato Mall and other nearby tourist locations available in the surroundings.

Best Time to Visit Mercato Beach

The climate of Dubai has to be considered in deciding when to go to its beaches and where. Mercato Beach is best sighted between November to March when the climate is perfect at 20°C to 25°C for sunbathing, swimming, and for whatever type of outdoor training.

But in summer, from June to September, it is extremely hot with the sun at a height of 40°C, and hence, daylight beach activity is not that inviting. But if loneliness, off-season, and heat are tolerated, mornings or early evenings can still invite you to peaceful beach life.

    Mercato Beach activities

Mercato Beach is simply ideal for whatever one would ever like to do. Although the beach otherwise is very peaceful compared to other action-laden Dubai beaches, there are just enough things to be accessed in it:

Soak Up the Sun on the Beach: If it’s just hanging around, then Mercato Beach is white sand and calm water. It’s perfect for a tan, a good book, or just to gaze out upon the beach.

Water Sports: Novice or pro, Mercato Beach is where you and have a go at water sports like paddleboarding, jet-skiing, and kayaking. Rentals and lessons are offered so one can start wherever he or she finds himself or herself.

Beach Volleyball: Every day, pick-up games of beach volleyball are being played by residents and tourists. Take a ball along and join or simply sit back and watch the sun-crised spectacle.

Sunset Walks: The view of the sunset from here over the Arabian Gulf is simply breathtakingly beautiful. Passing your sunset on the beach with it is the thing to do, sunbeams in the air and sparkling off the waves.

Dining on the Beach at Mercato Beach

One of the attractions of Mercato Beach is lunch or dinner at one or two beach restaurants. Imagine your cold drink or seafood with the sea wind blowing in your hair while waves break on the beach in front of you. There are a few restaurants and cafes with pleasant views and average food.

Cafe Bateel: Quiet spot to sit and enjoy a good breakfast or light meal, with a wide variety of Mediterranean food and great coffee, and sea view.

Shades Restaurant and Bar: This laid-back option is a hip restaurant, serving international and Middle Eastern food. Good spot to take friends out for tapas or cocktails and a sunset view.

La Mer Beachfront Dining: Yes, within the La Mer precinct, and Mercanto Beach, La Mer itself prides itself in having a luxury beachfront dining restaurant enclave where you might get anything from seafood to Middle Eastern dishes.

    Family-Friendly Features of Mercato Beach

Mercato Beach will not be for couples and singles only; it will be a family outing as a day trip. Mercato Beach would consist of some facilities and activities that would be used by the families:

Shaded Areas: Since the hot weather in Dubai is, shades are heaven. Mercato Beach would offer cabanas with shades where the families could relax from the blistering heat of blistering sun.

Kids Playground: There is a children’s playground and sandpit play area, where the children will have their turn at playing it out. Ideal for day trips out as a family when the children have their run about and mum and dad just relax on the beach.

Quiet Water: The calm beach waves provide a safer location where little kids can paddle to the sea, and parents desire it because they would not need to worry if the location is crowded or dirty.

    Mercato Beach for Health Enthusiasts

There are some good fitness-based options for health enthusiasts who would also enjoy spending more beach time for those who would enjoy more beach time. The huge beach is ideal for:

Beach Volleyball: As mentioned earlier, beach volleyball is popular here, and if you’re looking for a pick-up game or a serious match, you’ll find plenty of participants.

Jogging and Running: seaside boardwalks where one can jog or run, and ocean scenery.

Beach Yoga: yoga at the beach early morning on some mornings, a peaceful morning with gentle sounds of sea waves.

Home bicycle trails: the home where one has room to ride freely on a bike with nature, and there are bikes for hire if one doesn’t own one.

    Mercato Beach walk

No. Sand and surf, but Mercato Beach, to be precise. And much, much more than trendy facilities. Nothing in anticipation. Mercato Mall lies a block inland from the beach proper. Italian-themed mall of small shops and coffeehouses with period ambiance everywhere.

Apart from shopping, there is La Mer, a promenade to stroll, water parks, entertainment, restaurants, and further shopping. Culture, one might say, in the form of Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, with Dubai rich in museums, art galleries, and heritage wind-tower houses.

    Sustainable Tourism at Mercato Beach

And anyway, Dubai city as such is sustainable in all possible ways. And Mercato Beach is the same. Everything and everything that needs to be done and where it needs to be done is being done to maintain the natural beauty of the beach, reduce wastage, and turn green. The tourists themselves can help it do so by:

Friendly to the Wildlife: As the beach has been inhabited by most of the birds in recent years, care is to be taken not to visit the beach and disturb the wildlife of the location.

Friendliness to the Environment: Trash is disposed of at fixed time intervals with the help of the provided dustbins. Reusable packets and bottles replace the use of plastic in disposable form by the visitors.

Mercato Beach for Water Sport Enthusiasts

Mercato Beach is ideal for water sports activities. The peaceful water and wide beach provide a peaceful atmosphere to the tourists, but the professionals have work to do with activities such as:

Jet-Skiing and so on: Rent a jet-ski and speed off to ride at neck-breaking speeds in the Arabian Gulf.

Stand-up Paddleboarding: Stand-up paddleboard to your heart’s content and get a good body exercise.

Windsurfing and Kitesurfing: And for the adrenaline junkie, Mercato Beach is the place to go windsurf and kitesurf with beautiful conditions and equipment easily available to rent close by to maximize.

Mercato Beach compared to other Dubai Beaches.

Whereas Dubai boasts the world’s finest beaches, Dubai would be gaining Mercato Beach, the tranquility and quietness at the expense of the second-best among the holiday resort places, such as JBR Beach or Kite Beach. Mercato Beach would best be used for those needing a quiet and serene environment rather than amenities around and ambiance.

If you enjoy the atmosphere of a public beach where all that you possibly need is within reach, JBR Beach cannot be any better. Or if you simply enjoy nothing too wild, then Mercato Beach is where you relax and enjoy Dubai’s goodness.

    Conclusion

Mercato Beach is truly one of Dubai’s best-kept secrets. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or solo, the beach offers something for everyone great activities, scenic views, and a relaxed atmosphere. By exploring everything it has to offer, you’re bound to fall in love with this beautiful corner of the UAE. So, pack your bags, apply some sunscreen, and head over to Mercato Beach for an unforgettable experience.
